Otoplasty

Are there any risks?
As one of the most commonly performed procedures, Otoplasty surgery generally has little to no complications. The following are possible complications that are rare, but can be caused by an otoplasty procedure:
* Bleeding: this will generally only occur the day of your surgery and will stop naturally.
* Infection: as with any surgery the risk of infection is possible, however very rare in Otoplasty procedures. Should an infection occur, antibiotics will be prescribed.
* Asymmetry: achieving perfect symmetry of the ears is quite difficult, and it is important for patients to keep in mind before undergoing an Otoplasty that slight differences between the two ears may occur.
